Foreman the Calm
The Scarlett Litter

Scarlette's story is kind of sad. When she came to us she was actually adopted fairly quickly that weekend after 30 minutes of being at the adoption fair! unfortunatelly we get a call later on saying she was returned the next day. TERRIBLE! but luck was on her side because the next fair she went to the following weekend, she got adopted again! (NO MORE HOMELESS PETS IN UTAH FOUNDATION)

Chocolate Cherry Mya

She wasnt at our facility for very long, but we bonded and loved her right away. I'm sure her new family has found out just how great she is just like we did.

Why is chocolate poisonous?

Why is chocolate poisonous?
There are 2 natural substances inside the Cocoa Tree that are harmful to dogs - Theobromin and Caffeine.
Dogs metabolise theobromine very very slowly. Its been known to stay inside a dogs bloodstream for up to 20 hours. In that time it interferes with bodily functions that maintain the central nervous system that in turn affects the kidneys and heart.
Lethal doses for a 10lb dog - Roughly 7oz of milk chocolate, or 3oz of instant cocoa powder. just over half an ounce of dry cocoa powder, or 10z of unsweetened baking chocolate.
Lethal doses for a bigger dog say 70lbs - approximately 3lbs of milk chocolate, or 4oz of cocoa powder, or 1.3lbs of instant cocoa powder, or 7oz of unsweetened baking chocolate.
